Comparison

Fooduru vs DotPe

Both let your customers order by scanning a QR code. The differences that matter are what you are charged, whether you can find that out without a sales call, what language your customer orders in, and what happens when the internet drops.

The question to ask any vendor

Flat fee, or a slice of every plate?

A percentage looks small on a quiet Tuesday and expensive on a festival weekend, because it grows exactly when you are doing well. A flat fee does not move. Fooduru is ₹599 a month whether you serve fifty orders a day or five hundred.

We are not claiming to know what DotPe would charge you — they do not publish it. We are saying you should ask, and that our own answer is printed on our pricing page.

The cash counter keeps working when the line goes down

QR ordering needs the customer online — that is true of any QR product, ours included. The difference is what happens at your counter. Fooduru's Cashier Mode keeps taking walk-up orders, allocating tokens and printing bills and kitchen tickets with no network at all, then syncs everything when the connection returns. A broadband outage stops being a shutter-down event.

Your customer can order in ಕನ್ನಡ — or just say it

Every dish on a Fooduru menu carries its own Kannada name, and the whole menu switches with one tap. With the voice add-on, a customer can skip reading entirely and speak the order in Kannada, English or Hindi. The matcher only ever recognises dishes that are genuinely on your menu.

Where DotPe is the better choice

DotPe is a much larger company than we are, with delivery and payment integrations we do not have and a support organisation we cannot match on size. If built-in delivery integration is central to how you operate, or if buying from a large national vendor matters to you, they are the safer choice — and we would rather tell you that here than waste your time on a demo.

Common questions

Is Fooduru a DotPe alternative?
Yes, for restaurants whose main need is QR self-ordering, UPI payment, a kitchen screen and a token board. Fooduru costs ₹599 per month or ₹5,990 per year with the price published on our website. DotPe is a larger company with a broader suite including delivery and payment integrations, and does not publish its pricing.
Which is cheaper, Fooduru or DotPe?
Fooduru's price is ₹599 per month, flat, with no per-order charge. DotPe does not publish rates, so the honest answer is that a public comparison is not possible — you would need a quote. The distinction worth checking when you get one is whether you are being charged a flat fee or a percentage of each order, because a percentage grows with your success and a flat fee does not.
Does Fooduru take a commission on orders like an aggregator?
No. Fooduru charges a flat quarterly or annual subscription and takes no percentage of your sales. UPI payments settle directly into your own Razorpay or Cashfree merchant account — Fooduru never holds the money.
When is DotPe the better choice?
When you need built-in delivery integration, a wider payments suite, or the reassurance of a large national vendor with a big support organisation. DotPe is a substantially bigger company than Fooduru and that matters to some buyers.
