Paid add-on · quoted by counter count
Three counters, three screens, one token
Coffee, tiffin and juice are three different queues that happen to share a shop. Multi-counter routing gives each station its own board showing only its own work, while your customer holds a single token and a single bill. This is an add-on, not part of the ₹599 plan — that plan covers one counter, and we would rather say so on the way in.
How one order becomes three queues
One order, one payment
The customer picks a coffee, two idlis and a juice and pays once — by UPI on their phone, or cash at your till.
Items split to their stations
Each menu item carries the counter that makes it. The coffee lands on the coffee screen, the idlis on tiffin, the juice on juice.
Each station sees only its own work
No scrolling past other people's orders during a rush. Each screen is one station's queue, in the order it arrived.
The customer keeps one token
One number on the public board. Their phone tells them which window each item is ready at, and the order closes when the last one is collected.
Multi-counter is not multi-outlet
Search for multi-counter QSR software and you will mostly find platforms describing central control across branches — one dashboard for twelve outlets, consolidated reporting, franchise management. That is a real problem and it is not this one. A single darshini with a coffee counter, a tiffin counter and a juice counter has one address, one GST number and one owner, and needs three queues that do not collide inside one room.
Being clear about which you have saves a wasted demo. If you run several branches and need consolidated reporting across them, Fooduru is not the right product today and a larger platform will serve you better — see the Petpooja comparison. If you run one busy shop with several stations, this add-on is built for exactly that.
Common questions
- What is multi-counter ordering software?
- It is software that splits a single customer order across several preparation or pickup points inside one restaurant, rather than across several branches. A customer ordering a coffee, two idlis and a juice places one order and pays once, but three different stations need to see only their own part of it. Multi-counter routing sends each item to the station that makes it, gives each station its own screen showing only its own queue, and still presents the customer with one token, one bill and one live status. This is different from the multi-location or chain management that most QSR platforms mean by 'multi-outlet'.
- Is multi-counter routing included in the ₹599 plan?
- No, and we would rather you learn that here than at quotation stage. The ₹599 per month equivalent base plan, billed quarterly, covers a single counter or pickup point. Multi-counter routing is one of four paid add-ons and is quoted by how many counters you run, because the work and the support load scale with the number of stations rather than being a flag we switch on. Everything else described on this page — the shared token series, the single bill, the combined sales report — comes with the routing add-on.
- Does the customer get one token or one per counter?
- One token for the whole order. Splitting the token is the mistake this is built to avoid — a customer holding three numbers has to watch three boards and cannot tell when they are finished. Instead the single token appears on the public board, and item-wise pickup lets them collect each dish from its own window as it becomes ready, with the order only closing when the last item is collected. Their phone tells them which counter to go to for what.
- Can each counter run in a different language or on different hardware?
- Yes. Each station screen is just a web page opened on whatever device sits at that counter — a spare Android tablet, an old laptop, a browser-capable TV — and the cashier screen's language is set per device, so a counter can run in ಕನ್ನಡ while another runs in English. Devices are enrolled individually with their own role and their own two-factor authentication, and sales are attributed per device so you can see which counter took which money.
- What happens if one counter's screen goes down mid-service?
- The order is not lost — routing is decided on the server, so the items sit in that station's queue and appear as soon as any device opens that station's board, including a phone someone picks up as a stand-in. An owner can also see every station's queue from one screen. What multi-counter routing does not do is automatically re-route work to a station that is idle; assignment follows the menu item, not station load.
